The Californian Poppy, a dear relative of the poppy, is a sunloving sweet little flower that got its name from the fact that it opens its flowers during the day and closes in the evening. Californian poppy is easy to grow, and self-sows abundantly where it thrives. Richly flowering all summer, attractive to pollinators and despite its small size tolerates cold well. An adorable flower that is not only available in classic orange but also also in lovely champagne pink, creamy white and raspberry pink tones. Not as long-lived as cut flowers for sale, but lasts a few days when harvested in bud - and gives just as much joy and beauty where it grows.
